Lighting the Darkness:
A drama about missions for your whole church
Description:

This powerful drama has been performed in churches across the Carolinas. Imaginations are ignited by the unique way radio is presented as a tool for missions.

"Lighting the Darkness" begins by praising God for Who He is, and it then challenges the main character to "Go into all the world and preach the Good News."

So boldly he sets out to proclaim Christ but runs headlong into some daunting obstacles. In his first attempt to tell others about Christ, he is unable to speak loudly enough for everyone to hear. In his second attempt, he is stopped by a border guard and denied permission to even enter the location where he would serve as a missionary. During his third attempt, he finds he cannot speak the language of the native people.

Frustrated, disillusioned, and discouraged, our main character is gently reminded that he "can do all things through Christ who strengthens him." He is introduced to radio, a tool that enables him to talk to lots of people at once, to reach past hostile border guards, and to speak many languages.

Whether for Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening, or part of your missions conference, "Lighting the Darkness" is fast-moving, fun, challenging, and most importantly, worshipful. It will set the tone for your missions emphasis by allowing people to consider the great commission from a fresh perspective.
